future prospects for food and feed security

The Italian version of the FAO textbook titled Insetti commestibili:Prospettive future per la disponibilità di alimenti e di mangimi has been recently published. The  text has been translated to Italian also thanks to the contribution of  researchers of the ISPA CNR UOS Torino that are presently involved in  scientific studies focused on the evaluation of the nutritional value  of edible insects as feed and food. The text provides interesting information about the breeding, nutritional value and food safety of edible insects that could be of particular interest for farmers, researchers, nutritionists or general public willing to have more knowledge on this topical issue.
