On the 29th January the final results obtained within the National funded project Safe&Smart of the Cl.A.N. – National Agrifood Cluster were presented during a workshop entitled “The project Safe&Smart: results and perspective”. The workshop took place at “Centro Ricerche ENEA” in Portici (Italy). Partners of the project, under the coordination of Tecnoalimenti, were renowned national research centers including ENEA and CNR and many industrial partners and stakeholders (among them Barilla, Besana, Whirpool, Granarolo, DIA-PRO, Engineering, etc.). Two invited speakers from ISPA-CNR,  Dr. Michelangelo Pascale  leader of the WP 1.1  and Dr. Linda Monaci leader of the WP 2.3.2,  illustrated the results obtained within these WPs focused on the development of analytical methods for the detection of food contaminants and on the development of innovative methods for food allergen detection and new strategies for allergenicity reduction, respectively.
